Is Aqara planning to release an extension plug with addressable smart plugs for each socket?
I’d really love 3 or 4 4-6 plug extensions with smart control.

That would be very useful. I have an office setup where I shut down various items at different times requiring multiple smart plugs on an extension. Having a consolidated unit would make things so much easier.
If it had power monitoring also, that would be very useful
Yeah exactly. I’ve got several extension leads around my workshop each one currently has a Shelly smart plug fitted to every other socket (they’re too wide to fit them into every one).
This works, however, it’s an extra point of potential failure, and also means the stack of plugs becomes twice as thick (and is more likely to become separated if fitted to the underneath of a desk). Having it all integrated would be game changing for me.
The Shelly smart plugs are so far the best smart plugs I’ve found for use with Home Assistant. They have power monitoring that passes through to HA and I have several automations set up that prevent me accidentally turning off a plug when the connected device is in use (based on the current power draw).
If Aqara could release a multi-plug adaptor that had this built in to each of the plugs, and included power monitoring I would pay good money for several of these!

I’ve got a few of the Tapo smart 4-gang extensions but I’d much prefer to integrate more Aqara devices rather than mixing ecosystems.
How do you find the Tapo ones are integrating with Home Assistant (if you use it) and do they offer power monitors for each plug?
They work great with HA! Yes, they offer power monitoring for each individual socket on the extension. I have cost trackers set up from the Octopus energy integration to track usage costs for the day/week/month.

Ooh that’s great! I didn’t realise there was an Octopus integration. Is it an official one (ie, can it be trusted)?
By the way, what’s the model number of the power strip?

It’s not official, but it’s on GitHub if you wanted to poke around and check it out. It’s pretty well adopted. The power strips I have are P304M.

As far as I know showed Aqara on the IFA a prototype of a (4gang) smart extension plug-
So it’s probably planned for Europe! Let’s see if they show in Las Vegas something for US

I’ve got a Meross 6 gang smart extension plug, it’s OK but I’m trying to move everything over to Aqara. I’d love them to release one so I can replace it.

Still no sign of UK H2 or power strip !
I think H2 will be available soon too… for Eu / German version a public beta starts soon

I’m also very excited to get my hands on these products, currently using Kasa/TP-Link which are ok but connect via WiFi, I want everything to be connected locally via thread and have been slowly moving all my IoT estate into the Aqara ecosystem.
Come on Aqara give me more reasons to spend my money with you 
Well I am using an Meross power strip 3 gang sure doesn’t have power consumption but it works great and it is also compatible with HomeKit .for sure an Aqara power strip will be nice to have.
Hiya, does the Meross strip work over thread/Matter, local operation ?? I’m not familiar with their products so as long as they’ve moved away from WiFi to Thread I would consider these, obviously only if Aqara don’t look like they are going to expand their offerings in this space
Well all Meross devices are WiFi and matter but do have like Meross outdoor plug MOP 320 witch is thread over WiFi and I think some plugs too but other then that all are WiFi and matter at least what I am using from them.
Hmmmm the Tapo plugs/strips I’m currently using are Matter over WiFi as well, I’d rather move to thread and local operation so hopefully Aqara will eventually release these products, they seem to be bringing lots of products to market that are thread capable so I think it’s just a matter (pardon the pun) time
With semi range router matter over WiFi is not issue at all and it’s still local, high bandwidth devices are using 5ghz or 6ghz anyway.

Clearly we all need such devices made from aqara this way we do not need to spend money in vain for other products if we want to stick to aqara
