I recently received the new and long awaited thermostat for an early Father’s Day gift.i was extremely excited to set it up,I followed every step suggested and finally set back and waited for the magic.sad to say my experience was everything but magical.Not sure if my HVAC was compatible or if there was an error on my end but I got hot air only for the entire night and it was miserable.I eventually asked Maintenance for help in my building and they also couldn’t get it to work.in the end I was forced to install the original thermostat and call it a day.Any tips or suggestions?
It’s all about the wiring. Fortunately, my HVAC has the good old c wire. Still, I had two options for my red wire (Rc or Rh). Once I attached it to Rc, everything was fine. Pictures of your wiring are a must in order to get any useful information.
