While exploring some new districts in my favorite city, Chongqing, I stumbled upon Aqara Space. I have to say, Aqara has a great sense of where to open these spaces. The location feels fresh and calm, situated in a developing neighborhood popular with young families, with plenty of new buildings, and some that are still under construction.
We initially just wanted to take a quick look around on our own, but Ms. Chen enthusiastically invited us in for a full guided experience.
The atmosphere of the rooms doesn’t feel like a showroom at all—it feels genuinely livable. During the tour, I noticed emphasis on Adaptive Lighting and how it can enrich our lives and benefit our health, from helping us get ready for the day to winding down for a good night’s rest.

The Bedroom.
Beyond the usual bedroom routines, this bedroom features a privacy-conscious camera setup. By default, the camera faces the wall in sleep mode, waking up and turning toward the room only if an alarm triggers. Afterward, the alarm can be easily turned off with a simple hand gesture (check out the video!).
Next up was the Gaming/Work space. Here, the focus was again on lighting to get you into the right mood, whether for work, study, or gaming. I loved the triple-tap shortcuts on the table and the Magic Pad S1 Plus automations, which were even connected via a relay to adjust the desk height.
Then, there was a cozy relaxation corner and a tea/veranda space.
Of course, I’m only sharing a fraction of what’s actually there. The space also featured display walls showcasing their China product lineup, Ark Technology, Automations 2.0, and Aqara Studio’s integration with third-party systems. There were dedicated areas for providing professional consultations to installers.
Lastly, couldn’t help but notice, just like in all authorized stores in China this year, you can find a small stand highlighting Aqara’s stricter stance on region locks, even within domestic regions.
