A Creative Fix for Wyze Plug Connection Issues

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a quick tip that might help those of you struggling with connection issues on your Wyze plugs. Earlier this year, I had a frustrating experience where my Wyze plug would lose connection every time I used Alexa to turn it on or off. After hours of troubleshooting, I realized the issue was with the o-ring gasket inside the plug. If you’ve ever lost this tiny piece while cleaning, you know how frustrating it can be to find a replacement.

Here’s the hack I came up with: I used a rubber spline from my garage, which I happened to have on hand for window screens. The spline was almost the same size as the original gasket, and after some careful trimming, it fit perfectly. I secured it in place with small dabs of glue, making sure not to overdo it so I could still remove it if needed.

While this isn’t an officially approved fix and might void your warranty, it’s been working perfectly for me without any issues. The best part? It only cost me a couple of dollars and saved me from the hassle of trying to find a replacement o-ring.

If you’re in a similar situation, I hope this tip helps you get your Wyze plug back up and running without too much trouble. Let me know if you have any questions or if you’ve tried a different solution that worked for you!
