A Day with Wyze Cameras: Overcoming Connectivity Challenges

Hey everyone, I thought I’d share my experience with setting up my Wyze cameras. I’ve been trying to get two Wyze Cams and two Wyze Pan Cams connected, but it’s been quite the journey! I’m not exactly a tech whiz, so I spent most of yesterday troubleshooting, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a rollercoaster. First off, my setup includes a Comcast Xfinity ISP, a Netgear CM31T modem, and an Apple Airport router hardwired to the modem. I also have a signal booster in the middle of the house to help with the Wi-Fi signal. At first, I couldn’t connect the cameras at all. After some research, I figured it might be a 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz issue. I spent hours tweaking the modem settings, only to realize that the Apple Airport was the one controlling the Wi-Fi signal, not the modem itself. Once I reconfigured the Airport on my MacBook Pro to use only the 2.4 GHz band, I thought I was in the clear. But alas, after multiple attempts with both the fixed and pan cameras, I still couldn’t get them to connect. Frustrated but not defeated, I reached out to Wyze support, though I’m not holding my breath for a quick response. I wanted to share this in case anyone else is going through a similar struggle. Have you had success with Wyze cameras? Any tips or tricks you’d be willing to share? I’d love to hear how others have tackled this. In the meantime, I’ll keep plugging away and hopefully get these cameras up and running soon. Fingers crossed for a breakthrough! :crossed_fingers:
