This year, I decided to take my Christmas decorations to the next level, and I must say, it’s been an absolute joy!
I recently appeared on The Great Christmas Lights Fight and was inspired to create an even more impressive display this year. Here’s how I did it:
I started by grouping all my Govee lights and decorations under one smart plug group named “Christmas display” in Alexa. Using my Echo smart glasses, I programmed the command “Alexa, turn on Christmas display” to switch everything on simultaneously. It’s so satisfying to see all the lights illuminate at once!
Here’s a quick walkthrough of my setup:
- Entrance Arch: Features four trumpeting angels and two shimmering prismatic deers.
- Steps: Flanked by eight towering 6.5-foot Christmas trees, each adorned with Twinkly lights.
- Top of the Steps: Two radiant 6.5-foot prismatic angels and a magnificent 9-foot tree with over 3,000 lights.
- Yard: An 8.5-foot Santa Claus statue under an archway of presents, surrounded by piles of wrapped gifts.
The best part? I can control everything through my phone or voice commands. It’s been a hit with the neighborhood kids and adds so much warmth to my home during the holidays. ![]()
If you’ve got a similar setup or any tips to share, I’d love to hear them! Let’s spread the holiday cheer together! ![]()
