I wanted to share a truly delightful automation setup that has completely transformed my mornings. After some trial and error, I’ve managed to create a seamless experience that wakes me up gently while ensuring everything is ready for the day ahead. Here’s how it works:
Every morning at 6:30 AM, my Philips Hue bulbs start to gradually brighten, simulating a sunrise. This has been a game-changer for me, as it helps me wake up feeling more natural and less groggy. The lights slowly increase in brightness over 20 minutes, reaching full intensity by 6:50 AM.
At the same time, my Wyze motion sensor detects movement in the hallway, triggering my coffee maker to start brewing. I love how this integration ensures that my morning cup of coffee is ready by the time I reach the kitchen.
I also set up an IFTTT routine that sends me a quick summary of the day’s weather, calendar events, and any important notes. This has been incredibly helpful for staying organized without the need to check multiple apps.
One thing I learned early on was the importance of testing and tweaking. Initially, I had some issues with the Hue bulbs not responding consistently, but after reviewing my automation rules and adjusting the timing, everything now works perfectly.
This setup has made my mornings so much more enjoyable and stress-free. I’d love to hear if anyone else has similar automations or any tips for enhancing this further!
