I’d like to share a small but very practical automation that made my daily routine much smoother. Maybe it will inspire someone during the CES Showcase.
What I built:
I created an automation that adjusts the lights and temperature in my living room based on the time of day and whether I’m actually at home.
– In the morning, the lights slowly brighten and the thermostat warms up the room.
– When I leave, everything switches to energy-saving mode.
– When I return, the motion sensor triggers a comfortable “welcome back” scene with warm light and my usual settings.
Why it’s helpful:
It saves energy, makes the home feel more alive, and removes the need to constantly change scenes manually. It’s simple but surprisingly effective.
