I created a ‘holiday mode’ boolean in my system. When this mode is activated, any motion detected by my reliable Hue motion sensor triggers an alert. The alert sends a notification to my phone reading, ‘Holiday mode is active and motion has been detected!’ This setup gives me peace of mind knowing my home is monitored even when I’m not there.
The process was straightforward:
- Set up a boolean switch for holiday mode.
- Configured the motion sensor to trigger an alert when motion is detected while the holiday mode is active.
- Tested the system to ensure everything works smoothly.
