Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience integrating a few new devices into my smart home setup. It’s been a fantastic journey, and I’m thrilled with how everything works together now. 
I recently added a Govee outdoor light set and a Shelly EM energy monitor to my setup. The Govee lights have been a game-changer for my backyard ambiance, and the Shelly EM has given me great insights into my energy usage. What’s even better is how seamlessly they integrated with my existing Home Assistant setup!
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
1. Setting Up the Govee Lights:- I followed the official Govee app instructions to pair them with my Zigbee hub.
- Once paired, they showed up in Home Assistant without any extra configuration. So easy!
- I created a few scenes in the app to switch between different lighting modes, perfect for entertaining or just relaxing.
2. Installing the Shelly EM:- I was a bit nervous about wiring it correctly, but the instructions were clear.
- After a quick setup, it started monitoring my energy usage in real-time.
- I set up a simple dashboard in Home Assistant to track my consumption, which has been super helpful.
3. Automation Fun:- I decided to automate my morning routine. Now, when I open my garage door, the outdoor lights turn on, and my coffee maker starts brewing. It’s the little things that make life better!
