Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with migrating my lighting system from the C-7 hub to the new C-8. It was a breeze! Just wanted to mention a couple of things that might help others in the future.
First, the hub name transition was seamless, but it would be nice if there was an option to carry over the old name automatically. Also, I had to update the hub IP in my router settings, which I didn’t realize at first. A heads-up about that in the migration guide would be super helpful.
Another thing I noticed was the timing of the migration. I did it during daylight, which was a good move because it avoided any unexpected darkness. If you’re planning a migration, I’d recommend doing it during the day or when you’re around to handle any minor issues.
On a different note, I recently set up an automation for my chicken coop lights. It’s been a game-changer! The lights turn on 30 minutes before sunset and off 15 hours after sunrise, giving the chickens the light they need without wasting energy. It’s such a simple yet effective setup.
