Before diving into HA, my ecosystem was relatively straightforward: an Envisalink integration, garage door controls, Lutron lighting, a few Z-Wave devices, and proximity automation using the Hubitat Android app alongside Life360. While functional, I often felt limited by Hubitat’s app reliability and the clunky nature of certain integrations.
The Migration Process
I approached the transition methodically, migrating one integration at a time to minimize disruption. Here’s a glimpse of the journey:

The Upgrade to Pi4
After testing on a Pi3B+, I decided to upgrade to a Pi4 for better performance. The process was surprisingly simple—just a backup and restore from my Pi3B+—and HA handled the migration effortlessly. The upgrade was seamless, and the performance improvement was noticeable.
A Few Challenges and Solutions
While the transition was mostly smooth, I encountered a few bumps:
