A Smooth Transition to Google Home for Sengled Controls

As a user who’s been exploring the world of smart home devices, I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating Google Home into my setup. I’ve been using Sengled lights and motion detectors, but unfortunately, Alexa stopped controlling them. This was a bit frustrating at first, but I discovered a workaround that’s been working perfectly!

I decided to add and control my Sengled lights and motion detectors through the Google Home app. The process was straightforward, and I was able to set up the same routines I had with Alexa. It’s amazing how seamlessly everything works now! I even added additional voice routines to control other Sengled lights with Google. While it’s a bit annoying that Google doesn’t allow changing the wake word, I’ve managed to adapt by remembering which lights to control with each ecosystem.

The best part is that my motion detectors work fine without a wake word, which is a huge plus. I’m relieved that some of my Sengled bulbs won’t need replacement after all. This experience has taught me that sometimes exploring alternative ecosystems can lead to unexpected solutions!

If anyone else has tried similar workarounds or has tips for integrating different ecosystems, I’d love to hear about them. It’s great to see how the smart home community comes up with creative solutions to overcome challenges. Happy tinkering everyone!
