Setting up my smart home with Homematic has been an exciting journey, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others who are considering this system.
I started by researching the best components for my needs, especially for integrating my Fußbodenheizung (floor heating). After reading through forums and considering different options, I decided on using the HM-TC-IT-WM-W-EU thermostats combined with wired actuators. This setup allowed me to maintain a purely Homematic solution, which I found to be both reliable and user-friendly.
One challenge I faced was understanding how to configure the thermostats to work seamlessly with the actuators. I reached out to the community for advice, and someone suggested using the HMW-IO-12-SW7-DR actuators, which proved to be a great choice. They provided the necessary flexibility and were easy to integrate into my existing system.
I also wanted to share a tip for anyone struggling with device responsiveness. I set up a rule that sends me a notification if any device stops responding after 15 minutes. This has been incredibly helpful, especially with my Aqara devices, as it allows me to address any issues quickly.
