Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my journey in enhancing my smart home dashboard. I’ve been working on a feature where clicking on an energy consumption card would pop up another card showing detailed usage statistics. I stumbled upon the HACS integration called ‘Browser Mod,’ which seemed perfect for this task. However, I quickly realized that finding the right trigger was the real challenge here.
Initially, I thought maybe the simple click action would be enough, but it turns out there’s no state change detected that I can use as a trigger. I started brainstorming different possibilities, from using automations to even considering custom scripts, but nothing seemed to fit seamlessly.
After some research and experimenting, I discovered that integrating a virtual switch alongside the ‘Browser Mod’ could be the solution I was looking for. By setting up the switch to trigger the pop-up, I could finally achieve the desired functionality. It was a bit tricky, but the satisfaction of seeing it work made all the effort worthwhile!
