I’ve been experimenting with setting up automated scenes in my smart home setup, and I wanted to share my experience and ask for some advice. Specifically, I’ve been trying to create a rule that activates my outdoor lights 45 minutes before sunset and deactivates them at 11:30 PM. I created an activate rule using the sunset event, but when I tried setting up the deactivate rule, I noticed that there’s no direct option to deactivate a scene. Instead, I’m turning off the virtual device representing the scene. I wonder if this is the best approach or if there’s a more efficient way to handle scene deactivation. Also, I’m curious about the difference between activating a scene and simply turning on its associated devices. Have others found any benefits or drawbacks to one method over the other?
