Advanced Wyze Thermostat Integration with Google Assistant

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my experience with integrating the Wyze thermostat with Google Assistant. I’ve been using the Wyze thermostat for a while now, and it’s been a great addition to my smart home setup. However, I wanted to take it a step further by enabling voice control through Google Home. Here’s how I made it happen!

I wanted to be able to set my kitchen thermostat to 55°F and hold that temperature until January 12th. Additionally, I wanted to switch it to Away Mode or Sleep Mode with just a voice command. I also explored using IFTTT to automate these settings, which was a fun challenge!

After some research and tinkering, I found that Google Assistant works seamlessly with Wyze devices. By linking my Wyze account to Google Home, I was able to create custom routines. For example, saying, ‘Hey Google, set Kitchen thermostat to 55 and hold until January 12,’ actually worked! It was pretty cool to see everything sync up.

I also experimented with Away Mode. I set it up so that when I leave the house, the thermostat automatically switches to Away Mode, saving energy while keeping the place comfortable. The best part? I can check the status anytime with a simple voice command.

For those interested in using IFTTT, I found that creating applets for Wyze devices was straightforward. I set up a few scenarios where the thermostat adjusts based on specific triggers, like time of day or motion detected. It’s amazing how much control I now have over my home’s temperature with just my voice.

Overall, integrating Wyze with Google Assistant has been a fantastic experience. It’s made my home smarter and more convenient. If you’re looking to enhance your thermostat control, I highly recommend giving this a try!
