I’ve been using Aeon Smart Switch 6 (ZW096) for about two years now, and overall, they’ve been fantastic. However, recently I noticed an issue where the Binary Switch value doesn’t update when toggling the switch manually. It works perfectly when controlled via HA or Zwave UI, but not the other way around. I tested other Zwave devices, and they function correctly, so it seems isolated to these switches. I’m wondering if a firmware update might have caused this change in behavior. If anyone has encountered this or knows a fix, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
On a more positive note, I’ve been on a DIY journey to build my own controller for the bathroom. It supports eight switches with up to 40 amp loads, along with security sensors, temperature, humidity, and light level monitoring. The total cost was under $300, which is a fraction of what I’d spend on individual Zwave devices. I’m currently working on adding a WIFI version, which will make it even more versatile. It’s been a rewarding project, combining cost-effectiveness with functionality. I’d love to hear if others have taken a similar DIY approach!
