Alexa Timer Issue and Troubleshooting Tips

Hey everyone, I’ve been having a bit of trouble with my Alexa timers lately, and I thought I’d share my experience and some troubleshooting steps in case others are facing the same issue. Hopefully, this can help someone out there!

So, the problem I’ve been encountering is that when I set a timer using Alexa, it doesn’t seem to remember it after the first use. For example, I set a timer for 4 minutes to flip my steak, and when I try to check the remaining time by saying, ‘Alexa, steak timer,’ she always asks me for the duration again instead of recalling the previous timer. It’s a bit frustrating because I was really looking forward to using this feature consistently for cooking and other tasks.

I’ve tried a few things to resolve this issue. First, I checked if my Alexa app was up to date, and it was. I also made sure that my device was properly connected to the internet and that there were no network issues. Another thing I did was reset my Echo device to factory settings, but unfortunately, that didn’t solve the problem either.

I decided to do a bit of research online and found that others have experienced similar issues. It seems like this might be a glitch on Amazon’s end, but I’m not entirely sure. I’ve reached out to Amazon support to see if they can provide any further assistance or insights into the matter.

In the meantime, I’ve been using a workaround by setting multiple timers for the same task, just to make sure I don’t miss the alert. It’s not the most seamless solution, but it gets the job done for now.

If anyone else has encountered this issue or has any additional troubleshooting steps that I haven’t tried yet, I’d love to hear about them. Maybe together we can figure out a more permanent solution!

Thanks for reading, and I hope this post helps someone else who’s dealing with the same problem. Let’s keep the smart home community strong and supportive! :star2:
