Hey everyone, I’ve been exploring ways to optimize my smart lighting system, and I came across an interesting challenge that I’d love to get your thoughts on.
I have a setup in my kitchen where the lights automatically adjust based on the time of day. Between 6 AM and 10 PM, all the overhead lights come on for full brightness, while from 10 PM to 6 AM, only the under-cabinet lights are activated. After a certain period, the lights turn off automatically.
Here’s where it gets tricky: I’d love to know if there’s a way to detect whether the lights were turned on by Alexa or another trigger within my smart home system. The goal is to start the timer only when Alexa initiates the lighting, but I’m not sure how to differentiate between different triggers in the flow.
I’ve heard about using event logs or setting up specific conditions, but I’m not entirely sure how to implement this effectively. Has anyone tackled a similar scenario or has any tips on how to approach this? I’d be grateful for any insights or suggestions!
Thanks in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
