Alfred Lock Review: A Smooth Installation Journey

After months of research, I finally decided to upgrade my front door lock with the Alfred DB2 Keyless Lock. The installation process was straightforward, but there were a few bumps along the way that I thought I’d share with the community.

The lock arrived a day early, which was a pleasant surprise. I was advised to purchase the Z-Wave Plus module, which turned out to be a wise investment. The packaging was top-notch, with everything well-protected and neatly organized. The instructions were clear and even included a link to the app store for easy programming.

The installation itself was pretty smooth. They provided a paper template to help align the lock, which was super handy. However, I encountered an issue with the keypad’s number 6 not working. After contacting support and going through some troubleshooting steps, I realized the screws were too tight. Loosening them slightly fixed the problem. I also had to reset the unit during troubleshooting, but overall, it wasn’t too bad.

The lock is now fully integrated into my Z-Wave network, and I’m really impressed with its sleek design and quiet operation. The one-touch entry feature is a game-changer, especially when I’m in a hurry. I did have to disable some voice prompts, but that was an easy fix through the app.

I’m curious to see how this lock will integrate with my Home Assistant setup in the future. For now, it’s a solid addition to my smart home, and I’m happy with my purchase. If you’re considering this lock, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
