Amcrest AD110 Video Doorbell Integration Experience

I’m really excited to dive back into the OpenHAB ecosystem after a hiatus! I had a solid setup a couple of years back, but it unfortunately crashed during an update, and I never got around to rebuilding it. Now, I’m starting fresh with a renewed enthusiasm, and one of my top priorities is integrating my Amcrest AD110 video doorbell into my smart home setup.

The AD110 has been an excellent choice so far. It’s powered via hardwire, which eliminates the need for batteries, and it doesn’t rely on the cloud—something I really appreciate for privacy and reliability. I’ve successfully integrated the camera using ONVIF/RTSP, and the video feed is working perfectly within OpenHAB. However, the real challenge lies in integrating the doorbell button to trigger events within my system.

I’ve done some research and found that many users have successfully integrated similar devices, but I’m still navigating the specifics of how to make the button interaction seamless. My goal is to have the doorbell press trigger not just a notification but also a series of actions, like turning on lights or alerting my smartphone. I’m curious if anyone has experience with this particular model and can share their setup or point me in the right direction.

I’m also exploring whether there’s a way to leverage Blue Iris for additional functionality, given its compatibility with the AD110. If I can get the button integration sorted, it would complete the package and make my front door much more secure and integrated into my smart home ecosystem.

Any insights or tips from the community would be invaluable! I’m eager to learn and share my progress as I work through this project. Thanks in advance for your help and support!
