How I Utilize the Aqara FP300 Presence Sensor
I have finally stumbled across how to effectively utilize the Aqara FP300 MultiSensor.
This is meant to be a quick dynamic mobile display as you move around your home. You can see what you want instantly on the screen and there is no scrolling and searching for different smart device controls.
I added the Aqara FP300 MultiSensor to each room of my home that contains smart devices. When I enter that room the iPhone or iPad screen dynamically changes and displays the controls for the room. (Dynamic Presence Sensing) as I move around the home.
I tried to minimize the controls shown to keep things simple while leaving the option for the full room control at the bottom of each card. (See screen shots).
I’m using Home Assistant and the Conditional Card to display everything.
Since the FP300 MutiSensor displays Temperature, Humidity, Illuminance and Occupancy it gives the options for multiple uses and a well rounded display of information.

I really like the idea of using conditionals to dynamically display the current room!
It sounds like this only works for people who live alone, though, or how are you addressing that? Looks like displaying all occupied rooms?
I’ve played around with some BLE-based software in HA for that but its precision and accuracy is tricky to implement at best. Room-level (or better) presence detection at the individual/device level is something I’d love to see for purposes like this!

Yes, it simplifies things when you don’t have to worry about numerous people.
You can also tie it to a specific Home Assistant user and device (iPhone or Apple Watch etc).
I don’t have that situation so I did not go that route.

That’s a pretty smart idea! Thanks for sharing! I think I‘m going to setup something similar if I have the time for that

By using the FP300 it means anyone, whether it’s you, a family member, or a guest without a smart device, can walk into a room and the house just “works”.
If family are not interested in smart devices they are not affected. The same goes for any guests.
