I’m curious if others have run into challenges configuring events in the Aqara ecosystem—particularly with Home Mode alarms triggering when they shouldn’t.
I feel like this should be fairly straightforward, but in practice the settings interface feels busy and fragmented across multiple pages, which makes it hard to understand how different options interact (motion vs. linger, mode-based rules, alarm triggers, etc.). I’ve had a few instances where Home Mode alarms went off unexpectedly, and it’s not immediately clear which setting is responsible.
A few questions for the community:
• Have you experienced false or unexpected alarms in Home Mode?
• Are there specific settings or combinations that tend to cause issues?
• Any tips for simplifying configuration or avoiding conflicts between event detection and alarm rules?
• Is there a “best practice” approach you’ve found for structuring modes and automations?
I’m sure some of this is user error, but the UI doesn’t make cause-and-effect very obvious. Would love to hear how others have dialed things in successfully.
