AP9631 Network Management Card Issues and Solutions

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to share my experience and seek advice regarding the AP9631 network management card. I recently installed this card in my Smart UPS 3000 XL unit, and while it initially seemed promising, I’ve encountered some significant issues that have left me puzzled.

Firstly, the card has been rebooting randomly every couple of hours. This is quite concerning, especially since it’s a brand new unit. I’ve noticed that each reboot generates multiple informational emails, even though I’ve set up the system to only receive critical and warning alerts. The emails include subjects like ‘System: Network Interface restarted’ and ‘Restored the local network management interface-to-UPS communication.’ This constant interruption is not only annoying but also potentially problematic for my operations.

I’ve tried to troubleshoot the issue by reviewing the device’s specifications and firmware details. The hardware model number is AP9631, with a serial number ZA1213022473 and hardware revision 05. The management uptime is currently at 0 Days 1 Hour 53 Minutes, and the application module version is v5.1.7. I’m wondering if there’s a known issue with this firmware or if there’s a recommended update that could resolve the rebooting problem.

Another frustration is the inability to stop the alerts until the reboot issue is resolved. I’ve adjusted the notification settings multiple times, but the emails keep coming through. It would be great if there was a way to suppress these informational alerts while still receiving critical notifications.

I’m also curious if others have experienced similar issues with the AP9631 card. Have there been any successful resolutions or workarounds? Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I’m hoping to find a solution that ensures the reliability of my UPS system while minimizing the disruptions caused by these frequent reboots.
