Apple HKSV Resolution Changes

Hello, been working on a fully extensive Aqara into Apple Home integration throughout the year and I hope to confirm something:

Will full resolution available on Aqara cameras be exposed to Apple Home (And more importantly, HomeKit Secure Video) when the caps are removed with Apple’s fall update?

Products in question:
G400 PoE
G5 Pro PoE
G5 Pro WiFi
G350 Camera Hub
G100

I bought these (except for the G100) knowing they had 2k (4k in G350 case) resolution and that HKSV was uncapping resolution restrictions…

Hello, are there any plans for Aqara cameras (including the doorbells) to support the new “up to 4k” resolutions in Apple HomeKit with iOS 27?

4k/2k live video feeds on iOS 27

With iOS 27 in a couple months does anyone know if Aqara cameras will support 4k/2k live video feeds in the Apple home. Apparently cameras need to be updated to support it.

2K record saving to HomeKit as part of iOS 27 release

The new iOS 27 release will be able to save 4k resolution captures into HomeKit/iCloud database, I wonder if my Camera Hub G3 will be able to save it’s full 2k recording with this update. @AqaraBot any guesses? or beta firmwares for HomeKit Secure Video getting 4K support? [image]

I guess that means we should wait and see, and stay tuned!

Yeah people have been asking but a yes or no hasn’t been given yet. I think people will be basing their purchasing decisions over the next few months based on those answers, I know I am. Hopefully Aqara can do so soon.

I imagine that Aqara is working on it, but they won’t make any false promises. In general, you shouldn’t rely on promises; you should only consider what the devices can actually do at the time of purchase. Otherwise, you might end up sorely disappointed. So let’s wait and see.
