I have a couple of G5 Pros. Regardless how I set them up in Aqara app they show up as motion alerts inside of Apple TV when watching unless I disable viewing in Apple TV Setup. They show up as motion alerts yet I have turned off Motion alerts in Aqara on the individual devices. So regardless of detection zones these continue to pop up.
Also, Motion detection is highly sensitive to headlights anywhere in the camera views again regardless of detection zones.
I believe Apple Home notifications have to be configured in Apple Home. So you can long press the camera/sensor and you can configure detection here. Or you can disable notifications when you’re at home if you go to “Status and notifications”. Or maybe I’ve misunderstood something and we’re talking about different kind of alerts
Basically, you have to view Aqara Home and Apple Home as two separate worlds. What you configure in one app only applies there and is not automatically transferred to the other system.
If you make notification settings in the Aqara app, this only applies to the messages you receive from the Aqara app. The Apple TV does not react to these settings because it analyzes the video stream independently.
This also applies to the configuration of Face Recognition: You have to set up both systems individually. Aqara and Apple do not share data, which is why you have to provide photos with faces to both systems separately.
To avoid false alarms in Apple Home (like from headlights), you should choose the option “Specific Motion is Detected” instead of “Any Motion is Detected” in the recording settings. If you select only people or vehicles there, pure light changes are usually reliably ignored. If you use an iCloud+ subscription, you can additionally define “Activity Zones” in the Apple Home camera settings to completely hide areas like a street.
For notifications on the TV, the following also applies: Apple Home settings are transferred to other devices via iCloud, but the Apple TV additionally has its own setting for the overlay. Under Settings → AirPlay and HomeKit → Cameras & Doorbells, you can determine whether this specific Apple TV should display the image upon motion or not.
