Hi. I got a U300 lock about a month ago. After I initially set it up I was able to open my door with my Apple watch, but now that has stopped working and I can’t figure out why. Apple Home is still connected, I get notifications every time I unlock the door and I can lock and unlock from the home app, but unlocking with my watch or phone does not work, even when I open the key in the wallet (with my phone the panel does not even light up).
I did find it rather confusing to set it and may have missed a crucial step somewhere, but it did initially work. At the moment both the Aqara app and the Home app seem to have access and control, although I’ve set up most of my access (my fingerprints, guests) via the Aqara app. I just enabled “express mode” for my apple wallet key but that made no difference. I found a recent post from a u200 user with a similar issue and a series of steps were suggested that started with holding the enter key down for five seconds, but that did nothing on mine. @m73hollis It sounds like you’re having trouble with your Apple HomeKit key not working with the Aqara U300 lock. Based on the reference information, here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
If your Home Key card disappears, update your iPhone and HomePod to iOS/tvOS 18.4.1 or later. Then, use the new feature called “Restore Home Key Access” to bring it back (Home app> U300’s setting> Manage Access> Restore Home Key Access) .

The home key card has not disappeared, it is still accessible in the wallets of both my phone and my watch. But when I try to use the home key cards on the Aqara lock they don’t unlock the door. With my watch, when I hold it to the lock the panel lights up and my watch buzzes as if it has a notification but nothing is displayed and the lock does not unlock. When I bring up the home key card on my phone and hold it to the lock, nothing happens at all, the panel does not even light up.

Do you use any other locks with Home Key? If so, are they still working?
Home Key is tied to a personal access code. If you use that code on the keypad does the door unlock?

It’s been a while since I posted, I’ve been getting by without using the home key but I would like to fix it. This is the only lock i have that uses home key, so no ability to try on others.
I’m not sure what the personal access code would be that would be tied to Home Key. If it asked me for one when I set it up, I would have used the same access code that I used when I set up the lock in the Aqara app. So the code does still work, but it might be working only because it is set up in the Aqara app.
The thing that is perplexing is that the Home App works for controlling the lock and giving me notifications when the door has been unlocked, so it is connected, it’s just the Home Key feature that is not working. Is there a way to just generate a new Home Key? I can’t see any way to delete it or generate a new one.
It’s very possible that I set something up wrong. I didn’t find great instructions for how to set things up with the Home app. I just stumbled through it but it wasn’t straightforward and I felt like I was missing some steps and I’m not sure that I connected it properly with the Aqara app.
The setup for HomeKey is pretty straightforward, so it’s unlikely you messed something up. The Personal Access Code is found in the Apple Home app.
- Open Apple Home
- Click 3 dots in upper right
- Select Home Settings
- Click on Locks
- Select Your Name
- Click Personal Access Code
Try entering that code into the lock to see if it works.
You can also click “Show Home Key in Wallet” and turn on/off Tap to Unlock to see if that works for you.
