Aqara AI and bugs

Moved to Aqara doorbell from Google Nest. I get a lot more alerts from bugs at night than did before. Don’t get bug alerts from the other outdoor Aqara cams just the doorbell. Any tips?

Hi, which doorbell did you bought? G4 , G400 or G410?
Does the video show any movements?
Can you give us more infos?

G400. Absolutely shows movement like a bright white bug flying across field of view. We do have an outdoor light that is on most of the night by the camera. I could try to try this off at night.

I also have the g5 pro mounted higher on the house for a wider view and don’t get bug alerts.

Really I guess I’m hoping for an AI solution or some manner of toggle to put this into bug mode.

I got the support case and tried all solutions. Don’t know if there is much to do about it. And in my case, I just rely on the wider screen awesome G5 camera. I’m also out in the country so dont get much visitors round these here parts.

Also adding suggestions from the case in this thread:

  1. Reduce Detection Sensitivity: Lower the motion detection sensitivity in the Aqara Home app. This can help minimize false triggers caused by insects flying near the camera.

  2. Restrict Activity Zones: Set specific activity zones to focus detection only on the critical areas, such as the area right in front of your door. This reduces notifications from movement in areas where bugs tend to gather.

  3. Check Environmental Factors: Take a look at the area around your doorbell for things that might attract insects, such as outdoor lights or plants. Insects are drawn to light sources at night, which can trigger the motion sensor.

  4. Adjust Loitering Detection Settings: If loitering detection is enabled, try increasing the detection interval. A shorter interval can cause frequent triggers from bugs hovering near the doorbell.

  5. Enable AI/Person Detection: If your doorbell model supports AI-based detection (such as face or person detection), enabling these features can help filter out non-person alerts like bugs. You can find this under device settings > More settings > Detection settings.

  6. Check for Firmware Updates: Make sure your doorbell is running the latest firmware, as updates may include improvements to motion detection and false alert filtering.
