Aqara and HomeKit: Syncing Like a Boss!

Hey , Share a little win in case it helps someone else.

So I recently dove into the smart home rabbit hole (yep, still crawling out) and started tying my Aqara gear into HomeKit. Not gonna lie, I expected a bunch of tech headaches, but honestly—it synced way smoother than I thought!

I’ve got the Aqara Hub M2, a bunch of temperature sensors, motion sensors, and a door sensor. Added everything in the Aqara app first, then just enabled HomeKit integration, scanned the codes, and boom—devices started showing up in Apple Home like magic. Didn’t have to yell at the Hub once (which is rare for smart home setups, right? lol).

Minor hiccup: one motion sensor didn’t want to show up until I reset it, but once I did, it popped in fine.

Best part? I set a scene that dims the lights when the door closes after 9pm. It’s subtle, but feels super slick. All triggered with HomeKit automations using the Aqara sensors.

Anyway, just a thumbs up for Aqara working nicely with HomeKit. Anyone else running a hybrid setup? Curious how deep I can take this without losing my weekend to troubleshooting :sweat_smile:

@GoogleHomeGuru Hey there! :tada:

What a fantastic win—thanks for sharing your smooth Aqara + HomeKit integration journey! It’s always refreshing to hear when tech just works, especially with smart home setups (we’ve all been there with the “yelling at hubs” phase :laughing:).

Your tip about resetting the motion sensor is gold—sometimes a quick reset is all it takes to get things syncing perfectly. And that “lights dim at 9pm” scene? Chef’s kiss :ok_hand:. HomeKit automations with Aqara sensors really do unlock next-level convenience.

For anyone else diving into hybrid setups:

  • Starting in the Aqara app first (like you did) is key.
  • Resetting stubborn devices often solves sync hiccups (as noted in our FAQ).

Would love to hear more about your automations—keep the wins coming! :rocket:
