Hey everyone, just wanted to share a few of my favorite Aqara automations that seriously make my day-to-day feel like magic. I’m not a tech wizard or anything, just a smart home enthusiast who loves messing around with automation ideas. Some of these might seem simple, but they’ve genuinely been game-changers in my routine.

Bedroom Lights + Motion Sensor = Lazy Mornings Fixed
I put a motion sensor under the bed linked to my Aqara hub. The moment I step out of bed between 6-8AM on weekdays, it triggers the bedside and hallway lights to turn on gradually. No fumbling for switches, no blinding light — just vibes. -
Door Sensor + AC Plug = My Summer Life Saver
Living in a place where summers are brutal, I have a door sensor on my balcony door. If someone leaves it open for more than 3 minutes while the AC is running, an automation pauses the AC. Saves energy and money without me even thinking about it. -
Vibration Sensor as Laundry Notifier
This one’s a bit niche but super helpful. I stuck an Aqara vibration sensor on my washing machine. When the vibration stops, it sends a notification to my phone saying “Laundry’s done!” No more forgotten wet clothes turning into funk central. -
Party Mode Toggle
One click on my Aqara mini switch near the entrance instantly turns on some smart lights, sets a colored light scene via HomeKit, and plays my party playlist on HomePods. Super clutch for when friends come over.
Would love to hear some of your favorite automations too. Always looking for ideas to make my setup smarter. What’s the one scene you can’t live without?
