Aqara camera setup tutorial/explanation (for dummies). Part 1, "Detection Settings", let’s continue the tutorial/explanation using the G5 camera as an example, for users who bought the Aqara camera for the first time and often complain about the confusing settings of its options. As always, I give a lot of pictures to visualize the lesson.
Let’s consider the “Function Settings” section.

This section has many settings in different directions, now I will show the subsections of such settings “Video Settings”, “Sound Settings”, “Privacy and Security”.

“Video Settings” settings. This is one of the main sections for all Aqara cameras!!!
It has the following settings.

This section is not available in G5 due to the constant color image.

Subsection “Image Rotation”. This section is often searched for by users when the camera is placed 180 degrees (upside down). Here you can programmatically rotate the image by 180°.

Subsection “Privacy Masking Zone” for recording video from the camera (the image is filled with black). I also want to emphasize that masking the image does not mean that the camera will not react to events that will occur in this zone. All AI surveillance settings (from the first lesson) will work and notify you. You can set three zones.

ATTENTION!!!
Subsection “Display Detection Box” is used to highlight the object on which the AI triggered. I emphasize that the box is displayed only on the cloud recording timeline.

I only focused on the description of “Custom Audio Files”. This section is needed by users if we want to add our own audio file for playback. The vast majority of users do not know how and where this file is added.

The “Privacy Mode” section. This is the section for setting the camera’s privacy and providing password protection, changing this password.

The “Accidental Removal Protection” section is important for the user. Always make sure that it is in the Off mode before removing the camera!
