Aqara Cube T1 Pro: Maximizing Its Potential

I recently acquired the Aqara Cube T1 Pro, and while it initially seemed a bit overwhelming, I’ve been working on integrating it into my smart home setup. The cube offers a lot of functionality, from rotating and shaking to flipping it to different sides. I’ve set up automations where rotating the cube dims the lights, shaking it changes the color, and holding it resets the lights to their initial state. It’s been a fun project, but I’ve encountered some challenges along the way.

One issue I faced was with the ‘flip_to_side’ action. The cube is supposed to detect which side is facing up, but it seemed random—only about 1 in 6 attempts worked as intended. After some troubleshooting, I realized it was a matter of how I positioned the cube. By adjusting the sensitivity settings in the app, I managed to get more consistent results. It’s a great reminder that sometimes the solution is just a matter of fine-tuning the settings!

I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully implemented similar automations. Any tips or tricks to make the most out of this versatile device would be appreciated!
