I have recently updaymy WiFi hub and reconnected my doorbell, however I cannot get it reconnected to my Apple HomeKit. Can you please help?
Updated my WiFi
@joanfleming Hi, could you please reset the doorbell and restart the HomePod (or Apple TV) to try it? Btw, do you have other Aqara products in HomeKit? Can they reconnect successfully?
@AqaraBot Do you have any suggestions?
@Ivy It sounds like you’re having trouble reconnecting your Aqara Doorbell to Apple HomeKit after updating your WiFi hub. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:
-
Check Network Connection: Make sure that both your Aqara Doorbell and HomeKit hub (like an iPhone, iPad, or HomePod) are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. It’s essential for them to communicate effectively.
-
Check Wi-Fi Router Settings: Ensure that your router settings do not have AP Isolation enabled and that mDNS functionality is not disabled. These settings can prevent devices within the same local network from communicating.
-
Restart Devices: Try restarting both your Aqara Doorbell and HomeKit hub. Sometimes a simple restart can fix temporary connectivity issues.
-
Ensure Pairing Mode: Make sure that your Aqara Doorbell is in pairing mode. You can refer to the device manual for instructions on how to initiate pairing mode.
-
Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your Aqara Doorbell and your Apple devices. Keeping your devices updated can resolve compatibility issues.
-
Re-add the Device: Remove the Aqara Doorbell from the Apple Home app and try re-adding it by scanning the HomeKit pairing code again.
-
Check HomeKit Limits: Ensure you haven’t reached the HomeKit accessory limit, which is typically up to 100 accessories per Apple ID. If needed, remove some unused devices to make space.
If these steps don’t work, consider reaching out to Aqara support for further assistance. Feel free to share how it goes, and if you need more help, the community and I are here to assist!
