Hey everyone, I’m excited to share my experience with the Aqara double switch! 
I recently upgraded from my old single-click switch to this sleek double switch, and I must say, the installation went smoothly. However, I ran into a bit of a puzzle when it came to configuring each button to control different lights in my home. Let me walk you through my journey and hopefully provide some useful insights!
Initially, I thought setting up the double switch would be as simple as assigning each button to a specific light. But to my surprise, both buttons were triggering the same light. After some research, I discovered that the Aqara switch allows for individual button programming through its mobile app. Here’s how I tackled it:
- Understanding the App: I opened the Aqara app and navigated to the device settings. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but I found the option to customize each button’s functionality.
- Assigning Functions: Under the ‘Smart Scene’ section, I was able to map each button to different actions. For instance, the left button now controls the dining table lights, while the right button manages the living room lamps.
- Testing the Setup: I tested each button multiple times to ensure they were working as intended. It was a relief to see that the lights responded correctly to each button press!
One thing I would caution is to take it slow during the configuration. I accidentally assigned the wrong button at first, but the app made it easy to correct. The ability to customize each button has transformed my lighting control experience, making it more intuitive and user-friendly.
