Hey everyone, I recently got my hands on the Aqara FP2 motion sensor and I’m really curious about its capabilities. From what I understand, it should be able to detect whether someone is standing or sitting, which would be super handy for optimizing my smart home setup. However, I’m a bit puzzled because I can’t seem to find any settings or options related to this feature in the app. I’ve seen a few reviews mentioning it, but maybe I’m missing something!
I’ve positioned the sensor about 2 meters up on the wall, which should give it a good vantage point to cover the room effectively. I wonder if the height plays a role in detecting posture or if it’s just a matter of the sensor’s sensitivity settings. I’ve also heard that sometimes these sensors might need a bit of calibration or training period to adapt to the environment. Has anyone else experienced this or have tips on how to fine-tune it?
Another thing I’m considering is whether the sensor’s firmware is up to date. Maybe there’s a feature update that I haven’t applied yet. I’ll make sure to check for any pending updates and see if that makes a difference. If not, I might reach out to Aqara support to get more clarity on this motion detection feature.
In the meantime, I’m really enjoying how responsive the sensor is in general. It’s picking up movements consistently, and the integration with my smart lights and thermostat has been seamless. It’s just that added layer of posture detection that I’m really looking forward to experimenting with. If anyone has successfully configured this or has any insights, I’d love to hear about your experiences!
