I installed the G400 yesterday on our front door and it’s been nothing but problems so far.
It’s connected by power, not PoE. The door is very close to the Fritzbox 5690 Pro. This router connects to two Unifi PoE routers upstairs (wired). I have a first gen HomePod in the living room updated to 26.4.
It works reasonably well, but not that great, via the app. But I bought it because it can run natively via Apple Home. Adding to Home was an issue to begin with; several times it’s claiming I’m on the wrong LAN - which is not true. But when disabling and enabling WiFi it then tends to add the camera to Home.
Odd that different people have different issue. I am using it on WIFI and for most part working good. I am sure there is still bugs they are trying to get figured out.
I asked because after 5-6 days of banging my head after reading a Aqara PM post for g400 power requirements. I was underpowered. I had a 24VAC 0.5a power supply that worked great for multi previous video doorbells so never thought of that being a possibility.
The doorbell requires 1.3a, my old transformer only did 0.5a. My new transformer does 1.6a, I’ve been rock solid since 8am est this morning when I switched it to the newer more powerful PS!!!
I also assume like @n1976jmk that your power of the transformer maybe is too weak !
Can you please show us which power supply you are using @info1333 ?
Hi @info1333 , please take a look at this post the other day by DONIE an Aqara PM, he talks about power specifications and that was my issue. Seems he says yours is too low too but please read and confirm for yourself. URL to post here →
hi @info1333, unfortunately that is what Donie, the PM from Aqara is saying in that post I linked above. .1a is too low :(, need at least 1.3a. see screenshot of where he speaks about it below, dont feel bad, I had to replace mine too, and it was just 0.5a :(.
Thanks!
