I’m thinking about getting the G410 doorbell however my current doorbell is installed at a high of 1.3m from the ground where the G410 is recommended to be installed 1.4m from the ground.
Has anyone installed the G410 at 1.3m and have you noticed any issues with installing it at the lower than recommended hight ?
According to the manual: “the Doorbell is recommended to be installed on the outdoor wall or door at a height of 1.4-1.5 m from the ground”. I assume this is mainly about the optimal function of the proximity sensor and, of course, the camera image.
I mounted my G410 at a height of about 1.1 m from the ground, and it still works without me noticing any drawbacks. The proximity sensor reacts in time, and the facial recognition also works quite reliably. Not always perfect, but good enough.
Whether the image captured by the camera at that installation height works for your specific location is something you will naturally have to test out. If necessary, you can always adjust the camera angle using a purchased or custom 3D-printed mount.
