Aqara G5 Pro POE no longer provides POE

my Aqara G5 POE camera is mounted outdoors on my porch. Last night there was a powerful thunderstorm with lightning. This morning my camera was off line. After much troubleshooting I discovered that the camera no longer receives power over Ethernet. It is dead unless I plug in power over the USB port.

I ruled out POE injector malfunction by exchanging it for another injector. The camera connects to my network and provides a video image but only when powered over USB. The “power” indicator light on the injector continuously flashes green. This is supposed to indicate “abnormal power supply”.

I assume that this means the problem lies with the camera itself, likely in some way related to the storm.

After video documentation of the problem Aqara has notified me that they are sending me a replacement camera. I’m really very pleased with tech/customer support. The response was prompt and gratifying.

Are the same as the OP? Two different usernames.

I made both posts. But I have no idea where the “aisle_urgent_71” came from. ???

I just figured it out. That second email address is a “hidden email” generated by Apple “hide my email”.
