my Aqara G5 POE camera is mounted outdoors on my porch. Last night there was a powerful thunderstorm with lightning. This morning my camera was off line. After much troubleshooting I discovered that the camera no longer receives power over Ethernet. It is dead unless I plug in power over the USB port.
I ruled out POE injector malfunction by exchanging it for another injector. The camera connects to my network and provides a video image but only when powered over USB. The “power” indicator light on the injector continuously flashes green. This is supposed to indicate “abnormal power supply”.
I assume that this means the problem lies with the camera itself, likely in some way related to the storm.
