I have 2 G5 Pro’s mounted outside. When I go away, I arm the alarm for Away but in HomeKit, only my main M1S Gen2 is armed for Away and one of the G5 Pro’s but not the second one… that one is always Disarmed.
I have the same settings set for bot of the G5 Pro’s.
I also have two G5 Pro installed outside. When I arm/disarm one in Apple Home or in the Aqara app, the second automatically follows. No issues with Apple or Aqara automations or shortcuts either.
Have you selected both in the settings as surveillance cam? And have you selected one correctly as Primary Matter Controller for Apple Homekit in the settings?
I activate the alarm via M1S Gen2 hub and only one of the cameras arms Away. None of them are added as security cameras because I don’t pay for HomeGuardian.
You can use the security camera without subscribing. When you activate a camera under “Security Camera” a video recording will start when an alarm is triggered, which will then be stored locally on the camera. For example, on a G5 Pro, the recording will be stored in the internal memory, whereas on a G3, it will be stored on the SD card if one is inserted.
However, I don’t think this option relates to activating or deactivating the alarm system. I have two deactivated cameras, yet they still activate or deactivate the alarm system.
To be honest, I can’t find a setting where you can adjust this. I have two cameras set up as an alarm system in Apple Home and, when I activate one camera, the other always activates automatically. I also have a third camera set up in Home Assistant, and when I activate the alarm system there, it activates the alarm systems in both Apple Home and Aqara, as well as for all cameras.
For me, it’s as if only one alarm system is being used.
Question: Are all the cameras and the M1S Gen2 hub on the Aqara app assigned to the same home?
Actually, not quite true… you NEED HomeGuardian for that (see attached image). And one of the cameras does turn on Away but the other one doesn’t. I trigger Away mode via Mini Button Switch.
I’m afraid I don’t know why it’s different for you than it is for me. I’ve checked all the settings, and I don’t think there’s an option to set up multiple alarm systems.
The only other possibility is that your cameras and the M1S Gen2 hub are assigned to different homes in your account. But I’m assuming that’s not the case.
I would also assume that assigning the devices to individual alarm modes is irrelevant.
As a last resort, I would suggest going through the setup again under
Settings → three dots in the top right corner → Security Settings Guide
@gafich10 Do you have any idea why two hubs are in away mode after activating the alarm and one hub is not?
Explanation, insert cameras that turn on/off security depending on the state (On/Off) of the camera. Then make automation so that whether the camera is On or Off (incognito mode) will start/stop automation.
Hi, you wanted a sound signal from the camera. I knew about it because I once scared the neighbors with the G5 in the yard (the alarm only made a sound in the room of the house) after installation. I thought that your camera is not detected by the security system at all😂
