When the wallswitch is added to Apple home via connecting the bridge by matter, the wall switches lose the “display as” option - displaying the switch as a light only and cannot be changed to a fan.
Hi, Unfortunately, in Matter for Apple Home, the device type is set by the bridge and the user cannot change it. Therefore, the switch is always displayed as a light. Perhaps in future updates to Matter this feature will appear

In which case this may be something Aqara could help with? If the device type is submitted by the bridge, if we had set what the device type is in Aqara app perhaps they could then be exposed via the bridge to be the same as selected?
That way the selection of type is under our control in the Aqara app?
