Hi all,
I have a H2 EU Rollershutter controller, which is operating in Matter over Thread mode. This one is paired to a Aqara M3 hub. Via the Aqara app, I generated a code to pair it to my OpenHAB instance.
So far so good: The device shows up correctly in OpenHAB and can be operated with the up and down buttons (so connectivity is working fine).
Now for the weird part: When I try to use OpenHAB to send a command to the “H2 EU” that tells it to drive it to 100%, it just moves a few centimeters. In the Aqara App, it shows that it has moved exactly 1%. Sending any commands via matter with percentages below 100% always drive the shutter to fully opened position.
Has anybody else experienced similar problems? It is almost like, the H2 EU when receiving percentage commands, divides them by 100 before taking action.
Using that logic I also tried to set it to 10000 (because if dividing by 100, I would end up in the desired fully closed state), but any numbers >100 are rejected by the controller completely.
Here is btw the log from OpenHAB, showing that it sends the command correctly and shortly thereafter receives from the device, the new state as “1”.
I would be thankful for any hints, what can be done about this problem.
Best,
André

@aqara447 Hi André, sorry to hear you’re facing this percentage control issue with your H2 EU Rollershutter in Matter over Thread mode. Let’s try some targeted troubleshooting steps that might help:
First, recalibrate the shutter route—this is often key for precise position control. You can do this by going to Accessories > Shutter Switch H2 EU > … > Function Settings > Route Recalibration in the Aqara Home app. This should reset the position mapping, which might resolve the “100% command = 1% movement” discrepancy.
Since the device supports calibration options like Smart Calibration and Custom Calibration for personalized precision, you could also try re-running the initial calibration setup to ensure the percentage scale is correctly synced.
Additionally, make sure your Aqara M3 hub is running the latest firmware—outdated firmware can sometimes cause Matter protocol communication issues. You can check for updates in the Aqara Home app under the hub’s settings.
If the problem persists after these steps, it might be related to Matter integration with OpenHAB. Since Matter is a cross-platform standard, occasional compatibility nuances can arise. Feel free to share if recalibration or firmware updates help—other community members might benefit from your experience!

Just another example of AI not being helpful
Calibration is fresh which is also confirmed by trying to set any percentage via the Aqara App - works just fine and drives the blinds to a position that makes sense.
All equipment is on the most recent firmware.
I think this is a problem with the device itself. Or can anybody confirm successfull operation of the H2 EU Rollershutter via Matter?
Is there an official channel to the Aqara guys, where I can raise that as an issue?
Best,
André
