I have a Google home device (google nest hub 2nd gen) that is my daily driver for my home automation.
I’ve setup my aqara m3 hub on the same network as the google home device and added in three aqara light bulbs via matter. (hub was setup in thread mode).
The lights work great when within the aqara app.
I’ve go into the aqara app - created the matter qr code and then have gone into the Google home app and added this matter code in and google shows the icon of the m3 and it gets added successfuly. I’ve added also via the google home the aqara home “works with google” and that was successful.
I see do not see the aqara lights in the google home nor can I control them through my google.
So, that is where I am and stuck at present.
I also have my aqara and my google device both in the same country and looking for some other solutions.
@kevin13 Let’s troubleshoot this step by step! From your description, it seems the Hub M3 was added to Google Home, but the lights aren’t showing up. Here are some key checks based on the Matter sync process:
First, ensure the Hub M3 firmware is updated to v4.3.7 or later (this is critical for Matter ecosystem compatibility). You can check/upgrade the firmware in the Aqara Home App on the Hub M3’s device page.
Next, confirm you followed the full Matter pairing flow for third-party ecosystems: In the Aqara Home App, go to the Hub M3’s device page > select “Third-Party Matter Ecosystems” > copy the Matter pairing code or save the QR code, then re-enter/scan this code in Google Home (sometimes re-pairing with the latest code helps resolve sync gaps).
Since you have a Nest Hub 2nd Gen (which is a Google-supported Thread Matter controller), the setup environment should be compatible. Let me know if updating the firmware and re-pairing with the fresh code works—happy to help dig deeper if needed
I can confirm that my m3 hub is at firmware version 4.5.20_0019.
Yes, I did follpw the full matter pariting flow - As when I did do that process (copy from Aqara and pasted into Google Home) the aqara hub did show up during this process.
I’ve added the t2 lights to my m3 hub and they work find - just nothing coming up from within the google nest hub 2.
I’ve set country to USA and still nothing. I’ve tried everything and looked everywhere for a solution and soon my wife will be hating all my upgrades. Pls help
@kevin13 Hello kevin13, thanks for confirming the firmware details and the steps you’ve taken—it sounds like you’ve covered all the basics we usually recommend! Since the Hub M3 is successfully synced to Google Home but the T2 lights still aren’t appearing, this might require a closer look at the device association between the hub and third-party ecosystems.
You seem to be experiencing an issue where the Aqara M3 hub is synced to Google Home, but the connected T2 lights are not showing up or controllable via Google Home. Contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Home > Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:
This will be more efficient. They can help check the Matter device sync logs and troubleshoot the specific association between the hub and your lights in the Google Home ecosystem. Hang in there—let’s get this sorted for you and your wife!
If I understand correctly, you only added the hub to Google Home via Matter, right? Or via “Connect to Ecosystems”?
Did you add the T2 LED bulbs to the M3 hub in Zigbee mode or Thread mode?
In Thread Mode you have to pair each bulb via Multi admin (Description below).
An Aqara Hub like the M3, which works as a Bridge and a Controller, cannot pass connected Matter devices on to other ecosystems via bridging. However, this is not a problem: Thanks to Matter Multi-Admin , you can connect these Matter devices directly to other ecosystems in parallel.
I that I use the qr code from the m3 hub and put it into my google hub. I just checked my m3 app and checked the “Connect to Ecosystems” and it lists Google Home.
The T2 bulbs were added by thread mode.
Regarding Multi-admin - I’ve not done this step and will try it when I get home later, but I didnt see anything about Multi-admin when I checked but will see later.
