Aqara M2 with 36 zigbee devides - What's a limit?

Hi all,

It’s been a long time since I got my M2 Hub. Now I have 36 devices connected and I’m wondering if it’s not too much for this hub?

As I see, sometimes devices just disappear and come back to the system, devices lag, and faulty automations trigger. Maybe it’s about time to upgrade to M3 or M200?

What is the limit that this hub provides?

Kind regards

Hello, welcome to the forum.
M2 supports direct connection - 64, with routers - up to 128. Conclusion, there is still a large margin before the limit.
Recommendation, if financial opportunities allow, upgrade to M3, you will not regret it.

Yes , like @gafich10 mentioned- M2 should be enough- but also do me , M3 is definitely worth an upgrade :x2fozabcpx9xrbxmdpseb3_61:

Thanks,

What exactly might improve after switching to M3?

I’ve also seen that there is a Pro option to transfer data from M2 to M3. Does that mean it will make the transition smooth?

Cheers guys

Yes, you can transfer all the devices to M3 automatically. One caveat is that sometimes you have to overwrite the automations (change something and save again).

The M3 is the best hub available atm from Aqara. Matter protocol and more devices to add. Moving should be easy
