The Aqara thread bulbs remain comparatively expensive compared to, for example, the Nanoleaf bulbs, which (even after the problems have been resolved with these) are dropping in price competitively, and other Matter products are also coming into the price range that makes it possible to purchase in the sorts of numbers to be bought for a whole house type of scenario.

I would say that my Aqara bulbs have remained really stable in my Apple home compared to my old nano leaf bulbs. Those had trouble updating firmware and syncing to the their 1P app

If we are talking about aqara T2 bulbs, then I think the price is determined by the functionality they have. The T2 bulb has 2 protocols Zigbee and Thread, unlike other brands.
