I’m using several Aqara Smart Relay T2 devices on my wall switches to control the lights — so far without any issues. Now I’m installing Philips Hue lamps and I’m trying to figure out how the decoupled mode of the relay is supposed to work.
I can’t find any option in the Aqara app automations that allows me to use the connected switch as a trigger. For example: I want a single press of the rocker switch to turn the light on or off. But as soon as I enable decoupled mode, the switch no longer controls anything, and I also can’t find a way to create automations based on that button press.
So what is the actual purpose of decoupled mode? Is it possible to create automations for the switch input in the Aqara app when using this mode?
Hello, I described the T2 relay. Look at Figure 3, I describe the principles of operation. There are some nuances there. Look at the topic, there we analyzed the problem situation with the T2 relay Rele T2, let's talk about it again
Ok, I managed to set it up, but it was a bit strange. I decoupled and disabled the switch, and then I was able to create an automation for pressing the decoupled switch. The automation didn’t work at first, but after I set the switch back to rocker mode, it started working as intended, even though I now get a warning saying it’s not effective. Weird, but it works
because in swing mode you can’t do a pulse (press/release). For your understanding, button mode triggers automation at the moment of pressing. If you pressed, left, and then turned, automation doesn’t work. only PULSE mode.
