Aqara shows empty battery even though new and full

Hi all.
My G4 doorbell was running perfect in 2024 with installed normal batteries.
When they went empty I installed 1.5V Li-Ion rechachable Imuto accus, and the cam also was running great in 2025 till now…

While being abrouad I received motion multiple motion detection, but when opening the app the stream showed nothing. What I saw was a flickering live view and the battery symbol empty.

Took me a week to come home to change the battery.

The problem: Now the battery always shows empty.
I checked the accus: They are full.
I inserted other accus: Still shows empty, and no connection to live view.

I deleted the cam from the app: No change.
I inserted normal batteries: No change.
I reset the cam: No change.
I reset the cam with other batteries: No change.
I reinstalled the app and reset the cam: No change.

I left the cam sitting over night without batteries, chime away from power, tried again: Cam still shows an empty battery and no netwok connection (even though my WiFI is shown in the app perfectly).

Newest firmware, newest iOS.

Is is possible that the cam was killed due to an empty battery?
Anyone has an idea?

Thx
Mike

I forgot to mention: I also connected the cam to the doorbell wiring: NO change.

Did you perform a network reset or a full factory reset?

Here are the instructions from Aqara:

What do the LEDs on the doorbell and the chime indicate?

Does the doorbell respond (the LED lights up) when you press the bell?

Thx alot, John.
Half of my problem is solved. What I did with reseting yesterday:
10 seconds cam-reset + 10x Chime button (messsage “reset successfull”) and the reinstall.

Aqara just replied to my support-request, and they wrote:

"Please press the chime reset button 10 times to perform a factory reset.
(Please note that a factory reset will erase all device settings.)
After that, long-press the reset button (50 secs) on the back of the doorbell to reconnect the chime and check whether this resolves the issue."

MY BATTERY IS FULL AGAIN

I did not know about or try the 50sec. reset!

But: Network stream still fails, even though the network and WiFi is shown correctly within the app. CAm tries to load the stream, then brings the eror “network failed, please try again”

Would you have an idea there. Thx alo

Next clue: When I try to activate Cloud-event video: I receive the message NUB NOT CONNECTED… So even though the app shows my network, it seems to be a hub problem. The hub shows a constant blue light.

Hello, be sure to reload the hub!

be sure to reload the hub[/quote]

What does that mean? I now move the hub close to my router, opened my FritzBox to all new devices, deleted Aqara from the FritzBox to ensure a new fresh connection, tried the 10x Chime factory reset again, AND NOW my batter shows red empty again, no network for live view.
I the tried the 50sec. cam reset again, and still no network, and an empty battery.

If I would have hair, it would be gone by now

I did this. 1. G4 to factory settings. 2. Turned off G4 (knew the power supply voltage). 3. Restarted WiFi router. 4. Timeout 10 minutes. 5. Re-added G4 to APP.

Thx. Tried that, I receive all posive messages during setup (reset successfull, WiFi found, connection, added to home), Alexa adds the cam, all sounds good, battery full again, but live view: Connection error, try again.

I also get this window periodically. It seems to depend on the server.

What is interessting: I have a second cam running in Spain: No problem.
No solution till now, I will now take the cam and hub to my brother, let him open an account, and try an install there within a new account, router, network. I will keep you updated
