I have 3 Aqara Smart Locks integrated with Home Assistant. While the locks have the ability to auto lock after a time period I wanted to add a condition. What I have found to work extremely well is to integrate a condition based on my Ring Door Contact Sensor. Instead of setting the door to lock after 3 mins I have created an automation to wait for the Ring Door Contact Sensor to first wait for a period of time and only lock the door once the contact sensor is closed to prevent the lock from setting off early and then hitting the door frame. This setup works great!

I also find that there are alot of users using our door sensor with other brands smart lock.
