I’m having trouble with my Aqara automation setup and would appreciate any advice.
My setup:
- Ceiling Light: Aqara T1M Intelligent Ceiling Light (Model: CL-L02D)
- Motion Sensor: Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 (Model: ML-S03D)
- Connected via Aqara Hub M3, using Aqara Home app
Problem:
Even when I’m sitting directly in front of the motion sensor, the light turns off after the timeout period. The sensor doesn’t seem to detect small movements like typing or shifting slightly in a chair. I’ve set the motion sensitivity to “High” and the timeout to 5 minutes, but it still fails to keep the light on reliably.
Automation setup:
- IF motion is detected
- THEN turn on Aqara T1M light
- AND reset light-off timer
What I’m looking for:
- Tips on better sensor placement or angle to improve detection
- Suggestions for combining with other sensors (e.g., FP2 presence sensor) for more reliable presence detection
- Ideas for automation that keeps the light on as long as someone is in the room, even with minimal movement
