Aqara T2 bulb can never be found Alexa

Just purchased a T2 bulb and no matter what I try i cannot add it to Alexa as it can never be found. I have tried everything, the default thread mode, zigbee mode which is the mode I want, I have unlinked the Alexa / Aqara skill and re-added it, factory reset the bulb 3 times and started from new. Alexa can see all my other Aqara devices but never this bulb. It is advertised as being compatible with Alexa, both on the packaging and online, so any ideas how you get this working please ?

Hello @colin_g1pcz
The bulb connects easily to Alexa via Matter. Put it into pairing mode, make sure it’s in Thread mode, scan the Matter code, and it will be added.

Thanks for the quick, but when I try and add the bulb via matter in the Alexa app I get this message, I guess because I use Sonos speakers for Alexa ?

what version do you have exactly from Alexa / Echo?

Sonos era 100 speakers.

Ok, this is just a speaker which is able to work with Alexa but it isn´t a hub - what hubs are you using? Best would be an Echo gen.4 with thread

Oh sorry, its the Aqara m3 hub, so I can add it all the time to the Aqara app via thread or zigbee, but either way Alexa never finds the new bulb.

Will be returning this bulb as I have spent so much time getting this working, even called Aqara and they were not sure why and the call just ended after being put on hold. The advice I got was to add the Aqara m3 hub to Alexa but I can’t do this as i get no option to scan a qr code, only that I need a compatible Alexa device. So maybe having Sonos speakers is the issue.
